Wadhamville Garden for Wellbeing has been an organic ‘city lifestyle block’ for some 16 years since the owners, Tim and Amanda Warren moved in and began to transform the weedy, overgrown hilly quarter acre into a haven for living begins of all types.
Featuring Permaculture principles, and more recently, Regenerative design, this garden delivers on kai for people and all the local birds and minibeasts, lots of habitat for the wild and domestic teams of workers in this integrative eco system. The design makes use of recycled material. Meet the integrated team members including bees, chickens, guinea pigs, fish, tortoises, compost worms and an elephant sized mass of soil organisms.
A key feature, recently installed is a Rudolf Steiner inspired ‘Flowform’ which acts as a beacon for all life. Amanda also practices and teaches the ‘Ruth Stout Gardening Without Work’ method inspired by the Taranaki Sustainable Backyard Trail. Amanda has also spread her garden onto the berm with a giant ‘experiment’ in “Bermaculture” to see how much life can be created using only freely donated material and the minimum amount of labour.
Come and Share in Amanda’s vision to see the whole of Vale Road regenerated into a living system.
